"[I] can see so many areas where high-end video streaming could completely break down the walls of what fitness businesses can accomplish. "
Most of us are familiar with video streaming - the process of providing video data or content via a webpage. Typically, we see these video images on our computer in a small portion of our monitor's screen, and usually the images are somewhat grainy, often with a "choppy flow" to the video. Not anymore…
The Taylor Group's use of a brand new technology, known as "PureDigitalVision," will knock down the walls of the proverbial box that we are often urged to think outside of. PureDigitalVision's technology provides incomparable video and audio clarity, as well as size of video display. This state-of-the-art technology can be used for live or pre-recorded video or audio content.
And just who has the seemingly simple job of marketing this knock-your-socks-off new technology? Robert E. Taylor, Jr., a renowned career security professional with a 24-year record of success in planning and implementing strategically integrated security programs, tactical operations, counter-terrorism, intelligence gathering and executive protection. Here is a recent interview I did with him.

Robert Taylor (above) used his years of security and surveillance work to launch a video company which has an application in fitness.

Q: Robert, how on earth did you, a man with a hefty operational security and law enforcement background - and a counter-terrorism specialist, no less - get involved with this new video streaming technology?
A: Well, interestingly, this technology was originally designed for military applications. Rigged with a PureDigitalVision technology camera, ground troops can move about and their superiors can watch their progress live, even from across the world, in great detail. Previously, this observation was done via satellite, which was often expensive and require additional hard and software requirements.
"Any organization who educates through distance learning would be a prime candidate for use of this technology. " Q: Who can video stream?
A: Absolutely anyone anywhere can video stream. PureDigitalVision automatically determines each user's internet connection speed and syncs it in the proper format. Whether they have high-speed digital connection or the much slower dial-up, they can enjoy the same programming in High Definition or broadcast quality, anywhere in the world, at any time of day.
Q: What are the applications you foresee for this new, incomparable video streaming technology?
A: Our technology brings high definition (HD) or broadcast quality video over the Internet, enabling any organization to educate or motivate their audiences with the power of video, but with the convenience of personal computer devices. The applications are virtually endless. Nearly every type of business I can think of could greatly benefit from this technology. Video streaming, in general, and specifically this high-end technology, will impact all of our lives.
Those businesses that currently produce, or would like to produce, live events or video conferencing or video on-demand would be ideal users. Any organization who educates through distance learning would be a prime candidate for use of this technology.
This is just the tip of the iceberg, though. Absolutely anyone who offers a video product they'd like to sell via online pay-per-view could also reap the benefits of PureDigitalVision Technology. One of the areas that I'm most interested in filling in about this new technology is the fitness industry.

Christi Taylor (on stage above) has made innumerable fitness videos, she and her husband are about to offer a video-on-demand capability at her website using the latest video streaming technology.
|
Q: Why the fitness industry?
A: My wife, Christi Taylor, is an accomplished fitness presenter with many DVDs to her credit. I've been fortunate to have been involved in her business for nearly 22 years, and can see so many areas where high-end video streaming could completely break down the walls of what fitness businesses can accomplish. As a matter of fact, we are in the process of launching pay-per-view video streaming from Christi's website (www.taylordfitness.com) and her soon debuting www.christitaylor.net
|
Q: So, a fitness presenter could allow their DVDs to be previewed for promotion purposes -- or they could actually sell their DVD content, to be viewed online. Right?
A: Absolutely. With PureDigitalVision's expanded viewing screen, those who want to work out at home can actually follow their favorite DVDs/videos online instead of using their TV screen. This is actually how many home exercisers outside of the United States have been doing their workouts for years. Only now they'll be able to enjoy their video streaming with a much larger pictures and crisp audio and visual clarity.
Consider this: A fitness / exercise producer or presenter could offer an "exercise / lecture on demand" subscription to fitness clients and customers online. They set a fee for unlimited monthly viewing of that content per month. From the producer's standpoint, there is no actual product that requires storing, packing, and shipping. From the user's standpoint, again no product storage is required and many different workouts would be available at their fingertips. Additionally the cost of viewership will be less than the purchase of one DVD but provide the variety of multiple content options.
