About Dan Kirschenbaum
Dr. Kirschenbaum received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1975 from the University of Cincinnati. He was the director of the eating disorders program at Northwestern University Medial School, where he is Professor of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences.
He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and a former president of its Division of Exercise and Sport Psychology in Chicago and the program director of FitMatters, La Rabida Children's Hospital's weight control program.
He has served as a consultant to dozens of professional journals, several corporations (including Weight Watchers and Sandoz Nutrition), and the U.S. Olympic Committee.
Dr. Kirschenbaum has provided invited addresses at many professional conferences world-wide, received numerous grants for research, and written eight books (including three on weight loss) and more than 100 articles on weight loss and related topics.
Dr. Kirschenbaum has helped thousands of people lose weight over the past 28 years. He summarized what he has learned through science and clinical practice in: The 9 Truths about Weight Loss: The No-Tricks, No-Nonsense Plan for Lifelong Weight Control.
