  Red Color Antioxidant

Definition:
Lycopene is a member of the carotenoid family and has a higher antioxidant capability than the beta-carotene (another carotenoid). Lycopene is the substance that gives certain fruits their particular red color.

Best Natural Sources
Natural sources of Lycopene are found in tomatoes, guava, rosehip, watermelon and pink grapefruit.

Lycopene in tomatoes can be absorbed more efficiently by the body if processed into juice, sauce, paste and ketchup. The chemical form of lycopene found in tomatoes is converted by the temperature changes involved in processing to make it more easily absorbed by the body.
