Help with Posting Your Press Release
Help with Posting Your News Story or Press Release
Visitors that have a legitimate press release or news story are welcome to post them at FitCommerce.com so long as it is related to health, wellness, fitness, nutrition, or the like.
This is a free service.
When you post and submit your story, it will not appear on our site until it has been reviewed by our editors. Our editors reserve the right to reject stories, accept and post them, or request further editing.
Once your story has been reviewed and approved by our editors, it will be published at FitCommerce.com.
The Format for Your Posting Needs to be in HTML
Your press release will have to be preformatted in HTML before you can copy and paste it on our submittal form. If you don't know how to enter HTML tags, don't worry, there is a website that will do it for you.
You'll want to write your press release in your favorite word processor such as Microsoft Word. Please proof and run the spell check. If you annotate in Microsoft Word (bolding, italics, underline, colored text, etc.), the annotation will copy over as well as the text.
Also you'll want to prepare the photo(s) that will be embedded in your press release.
Step 1 Upload your Images to an Image Storing & Sharing Website
If your photos are already stored on a storage and sharing website, you will need to get the URL for the photo you want to render in your press release.
If you don't already use a service, we recommend uploading your photos from your computer over the web to photobucket.com. It's a free service and it's really easy to upload and retrieve the web address of your photo.
After you've uploaded you photos, make a note of the URL (web address) for each image. You will need this when you create your web page.
Step 2 Convert your document to HTML
We do not recommend using the web page feature on Microsoft Word but instead use a
WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor, which is real easy to annotate and convert to HTML. Just copy and paste your story (from Word or something similar) into the editing pane and use the intuitive editing tools provide.
Although you can use any online HTML editor, we recommend you use
It's free, you don't even have to register to use it, and you won't get spammed by ads.
Step 3 Get the Link of your Image
Before you save your press release for your HTML code, you will need to insert your photo(s) that you uploaded previously to photobucket.com.
Go to photobucket.com to obtain the URL (web address) of your stored image.
When you put your cursor over the image you want to use, a drop down menu will automatically appear. Click on the panel to the right of "Direct Link". This is what you will copy into your HTML editor.
Step 4 insert the link of your image into your HTML document editor.
At the top of your HTML editor is an "Insert" tab, click on that. That will bring up the insert page, click on the image icon at the top of the page.
That will bring up the area where you can enter the link address of your photobucket image.
Copy and paste the link address, give it a title, and signify the alignment and then click on the insert button below to place it into your HTML editor.
You will be able to see how your image will render in your press release.
Step 5 Generate Your HTML Code And Save To Your Computer
After you have annotated your copy in the WISIWIG HTML editor, built your links to your images, you are now ready to generate the code that you will copy and paste into FitCommerce.com.
At the bottom of the page is the "Save file now" button, click on that.
A notepad version of your HTML code will be saved on your computer in the following directory in Windows:
My Documents/Downloads/ myfile.txt
Retrieve this file, you will need to copy its content in its entirety, to submit your story properly.
Step 6 Create a Username and Password at FitCommerce.com
