Exploding Low-Carb Industry to Hold Its First Conference

(11/16/03) Total sales of low-carb products and services in 2003 is estimated to surpass $15 billion, now the industry will hold its first conference. No surprise given the popularity of Atkins and the South Beach Diet.

November 14, 2003 Denver, CO -- The nation's first business conference examining opportunities and risks in the booming low-carb manufacturing and retailing industry will be held in Denver, Colorado on January 22 and 23, 2004.

Low-Carb experts, manufacturers and retailers serving such popular programs as Atkins, South Beach Diet, Protein Power and Sugar Busters will converge to explore a variety of best practices and relevant issues.

The summit is hosted by LowCarbiz, the weekly trade newsletter of the Low-Carb industry. LowCarbiz estimates that total sales of low-carb products and services in 2003 will surpass $15 billion. The newsletter recently reported that low carb products are being introduced at a rate of almost three a day.

Authors of Protein Power to Keynote

The keynote speakers for the Low-Carb Summit will be Drs. Michael and Mary Dan Eades, authors of Protein Power, Protein Power Lifeplan and The 30-Day Low-Carb Diet Solution. The Eades have encouraged a high protein, low-carb lifestyle for nearly 15 years and have enabled millions of people around the world to lose weight and improve their health. The doctors, authors of 11 books between them, will speak on the topic: "Medical and Business Lessons Learned From Other Failed Diet Regimes."
